Worked example
A 50 mm internal diameter over 10 m holds approximately 19.635 L when full.
Calculate the full internal capacity of a straight circular pipe using its actual bore diameter and length.

A full straight circular bore of constant diameter. Use actual internal diameter rather than nominal pipe size or outside diameter. Fittings and partial filling are excluded.
Radius in meters = internal diameter in mm ÷ 2,000.
Capacity = πr² × length.
