2026 owner estimate using IRS Table III. Do not use it when a sole spouse beneficiary is more than 10 years younger or for inherited accounts; those cases use different tables/rules. Confirm first-year deadlines and eligible account aggregation.

How this was calculated

RMD = prior December 31 balance ÷ IRS Uniform Lifetime divisor for age in the distribution year.

Formula and table

For the supported owner case, RMD equals the previous December 31 account balance divided by the Uniform Lifetime divisor for age in the distribution year.

Worked example

A 75-year-old with a $500,000 prior year-end balance uses the 24.6 divisor. The estimated RMD is $20,325.20 before subtracting any amount already withdrawn.
