Projected Roth IRA balance

$707,806.22

  • 2026 modeled eligible contribution limit$7,500.00
  • First-year contribution used$7,500.00
  • Total future contributions$225,000.00
  • Growth above opening balance and deposits$462,806.22

Income, compensation and 2026 dollar thresholds stay fixed in this projection. Contributions occur at year-end. Eligibility, spouse compensation and qualified-distribution rules require separate confirmation; the displayed balance is not a withdrawal tax calculation.

How this was calculated

Apply the 2026 age/compensation limit and MAGI phaseout, including other IRA contributions.

Deposit no more than the smaller of your plan and the modeled eligible limit.

Compound the opening balance each year, then add that year’s deposit.

Formula and method

The eligible contribution is limited by compensation, the 2026 IRA cap, other IRA contributions and the Roth MAGI phaseout. Within the phaseout, apply the IRS reduced-limit method, rounding upward to the next $10 with a $200 floor before the remaining overall IRA limit. Project annual deposits at year-end.

Worked example

At age 35 with sufficient compensation, $160,500 single-filer MAGI is halfway through the 2026 phaseout. The modeled Roth limit is $3,750 before other IRA contributions. At $168,000 MAGI, the direct-contribution limit is zero.

Frequently asked questions

Does the projected balance mean I can withdraw it tax-free?

Not by itself. Qualified-distribution rules depend on age and holding-period conditions. The projection does not calculate withdrawal taxes, conversions, backdoor Roth transactions or excess-contribution corrections.
