Pace per mile9:39 min/mi
Speed10 km/h
5 km at this pace30 min
10 km at this pace60 min
How this was calculated
Pace = elapsed minutes ÷ distance. Speed = 60 ÷ minutes per kilometer.
Predictions assume constant pace and include no allowance for stops or fatigue.
Method
Pace is minutes divided by distance. At a constant pace, time equals pace multiplied by distance and distance equals time divided by pace.
Worked example
5 km in 30 minutes gives 6:00 min/km, approximately 9:39 min/mile, and 10 km/h. At that pace 10 km takes 60 minutes.
Assumptions and limits
Enter decimal minutes, not a colon-separated time: 5 minutes 30 seconds is 5.5 minutes. Race predictions assume a constant pace and do not model fatigue or stops.
