How this was calculated

The count lives only in this page. Reloading or closing the tab starts again at 0, and nothing is sent anywhere.

How to use the counter

Each click of + adds the step size to the count and each click of − subtracts it. The step starts at 1 but can be any positive number, such as 5 for counting in fives or 0.5 for half-units.

Keyboard shortcuts work anywhere on the page except while you are typing in a field: + or ↑ counts up and − or ↓ counts down. Undo reverses the last change, up to 100 steps back, and Reset returns the count to 0.

Privacy

The count lives only in this browser tab. It is not stored, synced or sent anywhere, so reloading or closing the page starts again at zero. Write down a count you need to keep.

Frequently asked questions

Can the count go below zero?

Yes. Subtracting past zero gives a negative count, which is useful for tracking a net change such as people entering and leaving.

Will my count be saved if I close the page?

No. The counter keeps its value only while the tab is open, and nothing is sent to a server.

Can I count by more than one?

Yes. Set the step size to any positive number and each click adds or subtracts that amount.
