How the count works
Each row is quantity × face value, and the grand total is the sum of the rows: total = Σ (count × denomination). The tool works in whole cents, so a large count of coins never picks up floating-point rounding error.
For US currency it lists all seven Federal Reserve note denominations ($1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100) and the circulating coins. For other currencies, enter one line per denomination as value × quantity.
Worked example
4 × 50 = 200, 12 × 20 = 240, 7 × 10 = 70, 3 × 5 = 15 and 40 × 0.25 = 10 make a grand total of 535.00 from 66 pieces.
